Welcome!

Welcome me, welcome you! Athough I am not sure I have much to say, that anyone wants to listen to that is, I thought it might be fun to start a blog and archive my thoughts, pictures, writings, and attempted recipes and crafts! So, this is more of an area for me to be ME and to explore, vent and get creative. Enjoy, I plan to!

Maybe no one will notice...?!!!

So...if it happens to appear that I am raising one eyebrow at you, instead of being offended that I'm questioning your actions, let's just chalk it up to a home wax strip gone rogue! #itcouldhappen

Husband's response to "said eyebrow," "oh no, not again?!"
#evidentlyimnotaquickstudy

Bright side: 2-3 weeks...maybe 4...5 tops!
Flip-side: I get to meet hundreds of strangers in Florida like this in 2 days! #snobvsfreak

If you need me I'll be here, digging around for my trusty ol' eyebrow pencil! #immyownworstenemy #ithinkitsbarelynoticible...right?!

He's growing up!!

W4/22/16

A's first dance tonight!!!!!

I think I should be able to go too!!

Can I sit in a corner and make sure he's okay???

Hahaha, ummm never mind. I guess that'd be creepy! Hahaha

I'm just worried kids will pick on him

Friend's advice:
1. Let him fly out of the nest mom! Only thing worse then getting picked on at the dance is having your mom there butting in making it worse lol"
2. "Agreed, my parents always want to chaperone every dance and it used to piss me off so badly… Don't be that mom!
3. However, Eric now has added "you do whatever you need to do- you can't trust those little bastards." 😜"

So, I'm with Eric!! I'm feeling like a nervous hen but so proud of him at the same time. He has always flat out turned these things down in the past! I'm thinking he feels more confident and secure?!

Beaver and I went to the store and we picked out three outfits. we brought the outfits home and let him decide which one he wanted to wear; He picked the one Beav picked out...OMG

Not the cute American Eagle outfit that I chose!

This is hilarious!!

He is so excited, had a grand entrance complete with curtain to show us, then he wanted me to kiss him. Then he asked to bring one of the (4week old) carnations that beaver gave me to a girl he likes, I respond..."there will be times for flowers, this is not it."

Okay, so...mom tried to do the hair...he said it makes him look scared!! Hahaha! So, Dad to the rescue!!

So now here we all are, in the bathroom...including all three pooches who want to be in on the excitement!

In the car I gave him $10, $6 to get in and $4 for refreshments. Made a hilarious comment that I can't remember now...I'll fill it in later!

Okay, so we were WAY early to drop him off so we sat on a side road until it was closer to the time! We dropped him off and the DJ van was there and it was all so exciting and real!  He got out of the car then came around to my window. I rolled it down, he leaned in kissed me and reached
Over to squeeze Beav's hand!

So very thankful for these amazing moments and memories!!

Now we wait to hear all about it!!!!

.……………………..............................

Okay, so he came out like this...belt off and around his neck like a scarf, snacks in each hand and a glow stick dangling from his teeth...

And said, "That was fun, I think I'm going to go to more dances!!" Yup, the only kid that came out with a plate of cookies for his parents, a bag of popcorn, and two red vines wrapped up in a napkin and tied, like a present, with a streamer! Very sweet!

What was your favorite part? " I don't really know." When pressed for more, "I can't choose, I liked it all!"

Did you dance at all? "Somewhat...I danced a little!"

We told him, "We've decided that we are going to chaperone the next dance." "Oh no you're not." (Shaking head furiously) Why not? "You'll embarrass me, you don't know how to whip, nay-nay, or do any of the modern moves!"

Bahahahahaha!!! #signusup!!

Gender Issue

A friend of mine asked me to assist her with a very special project.

She was to have an ultrasound and learn the gender of her baby, but her husband was out of town. Since they wanted to find out together, with their little girl, she asked if I would help them.

The plan: she would get the ultrasound done, have them write the gender down and seal it in an envelope. She would then give me the envelope and I would do something creative with it for them one catch, it had to fit in a carry-on.  She and her daughter would fly to meet him the next day and together they would open up whatever I gave them and they would all find out together…BOY or GIRL??!! Exciting!!!

What an honor!! I was also a little nervous about the responsibility and wanted it to be great! I asked people for ideas, searched the internet, and just could not find that one thing that I felt like “That is it!”

I thought long and hard…ideas were percolating…then I had it, I knew what I wanted to do..So, I had my ideas, the supplies, and now I waited for the envelope...so exciting!!

In fact, when she gave me the envelope after her appointment I am not entirely certain who was more excited?!! :) I opened it up...IT'S A BOY!

Here is what I came up with for them:

Guide to what I did:
I bought a little Baby Gap onesie (Goodwill $1.29, yay!!)
I bought a Hershey bar…or two! (creativity need nutrition!)
Then I found my IPhone box, scrapbook paper, my laptop, and some odds and ends…

I found a clip art baby face online – then neutral yellow polka dot pattern back ground and printed it as a wrapper to go around the candy bar. (I printed an additional piece of just the background to use to wrap the box up with in the end)

Then I cut the arms out of the onesie and used one to make a diaper and one to make a little hat.

Then I cut a piece of scrapbook paper to line the bottom of the IPhone box and make a little bed, gathered some pink and blue paper flowers and a little green safety pin from my scrapbook supplies.

I then colored in the HE of Hershey in blue, “dressed” the candy bar, printed out little instructions and placed it on top and then sealed and wrapped the box.

As I wrapped it I prayer for them as a family and for this new little one to grow healthy and strong!!

What an honor!
