Welcome!

Welcome me, welcome you! Athough I am not sure I have much to say, that anyone wants to listen to that is, I thought it might be fun to start a blog and archive my thoughts, pictures, writings, and attempted recipes and crafts! So, this is more of an area for me to be ME and to explore, vent and get creative. Enjoy, I plan to!

Proud

> One of our kiddos has a school project about something he is proud of.
>
> The topic he chose to be proud of is: My Parent! (Sniffle sniffle) yup, when I saw this I choked up! Baby steps; they are working, we are getting there! I consider this a giant leap! (Insert smiley face!)

Sweet M

There is a little one in foster care who has stolen a piece of our hearts! I get my baby-fix from this kiddo. When I hold her I always pray for her, for her future, and for her to know Jesus.

Today is court, and most likely a disruption from the only parents/family she has ever known. Foster parents who have had her since she came home the hospital and who've loved her as their own.

We are heartbroken for them and her.

The system will likely side to have this, several month old, kiddo go with other family members. Pray for them to raise her well. Pray for her to bond with them and be happy. Pray for the foster parents as they move forward without this precious one they love. It is their mission, I don't know how they do it, but they will get another and risk their hearts again. They are amazing people, may God bless them and give them peace.

You are missed.

It hardly seems like a year ago today we tragically lost our friend. It seems like yesterday and it seems like forever.

I remember praying over and over again that he was okay and just up the river a ways.

Not sure why God took him, but we are thankful the world had him while we did. It was great to see the community come together with meals, dog walking, and bringing comfort to his dear wife and his much love sidekick, his dog, Lola!

He was a deeply caring clinician, friend to all, and lover of life, we miss you Shep!

His wife posted this today...a reminder to us all:

His wife posted this quote today, "oh how we wasted thousands of moments thinking we had thousands more."

Security

Last night when we went to leave the library it was pouring rain! I said told my husband, "I'll wait here while you get the car!" "Me too," piped in our kiddo.  My husband replied,  "Nope, if you don't come now I'm just driving home." I said, "Okay," and waited inside the door.

Our kiddo was very torn as to what to do. "We need to go!! he said anxiously.  "No we don't" I calmly stated, "he'll come pick us up."

"How do you know?"

"Because he loves me."

Understanding seemed to dawn and he stood tall, "He loves me too!"

"Yup!" I said, "he loves us both and he will not leave us here." Seconds later he pulled the car up and that kid just beamed as he made a dash to the car!

I think we added another notch of security, but the battle to overcome the emotional trauma continues!
